In early 2013, GMP Investment Management ("GMPIM") entered into a definitive agreement to sell the majority of its assets under management to a third-party investment management firm. Following the completion of this transaction GMP Capital Inc. intends to rebrand its alternative investments business as CQI Capital Management LP (“CQI”). GMP Capital Inc. remains committed to supporting the growth of this business.


CQI Capital Management

CQI is an asset management firm focused on providing alternative investment products to institutional investors and high-net-worth individuals. Later this year, GMPIM, together with CQI’s partners, intend to rebrand the firm’s investment management business as CQI Capital Management LP, under the leadership of Dan McClure, Chief Executive Officer.

Investment Funds

CQI will continue to manage the GMPIM Equity Opportunities Funds (EOF) and the Genesis Partners Fund and their successors.
EOF: A North American equity focused fund that employs a proprietary approach of business cycle analysis to implement unique strategies targeting superior returns through a full cycle by varying the fund’s long-to-short bias, sector allocation and quantitative factor rankings.
Genesis Fund: Invests in public and private companies that offer a potentially high long-term rate of return.
CQI expects to launch the Income Opportunities Fund, an equity focused fund, later this year, with the expectation that it will offer stable returns with lower volatility and a view toward wealth preservation.
